Favorite scripture and why: 2 Corinthians 4:18 “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” This is my favorite Bible verse because it reminds me that what we do in this life is meant to praise God not ourselves. We should set our sights on Him, because He is what lasts forever, not any of our earthly possessions or desires.
Favorite part of Core Team: I like getting involved with the youth and meeting kids who are passionate about their faith. It’s nice to have fun while showing our love for the Lord.
What does your faith mean to you: My faith is what keeps me going, it centers me when I lose track of my path and it’s what connects me to Jesus. It also is what shapes who I am, how I act and it’s what keeps me striving to be a good influence for other people.
Most influential person in your faith: The most influential person in my faith has been my Grandpa. He has shaped my morals, my personality, and I wouldn’t be the same person I am today without his guidance.
If you could ask God one question, what would it be: How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood? I’ve always wondered what the answer was, and if anybody would know, it would be God.
If you could leave a message to the high school students after you, what would it be: Remember Pat’s funny sayings! They’re so weird. Most importantly though, be yourself and don’t just follow the crowd. Be who you are, Jesus doesn’t want you to just follow what everyone else does, he gave each person their own unique personality and it’s our job to use what makes us special to praise him.
