Favorite scripture and why: My favorite scripture is, “Be a light to those in darkness.” -Romans 2:19 because there is no greater feeling in this world than to open someone’s eyes to the Lord’s love. It’s like giving someone something to live for and helping them escape the purposeless world they may be stuck in.
Favorite part of Core Team: My favorite part of Core Team is going out into our community and helping our fellow youth really see just how amazing our faith really is and that it is truly much more than what meets the eye.
What does your faith mean to you: I’m sure this may sound cliché but my faith honestly does mean everything to me. Without His hand guiding me, and His love empowering my heart and my will, I’d be nothing. I am who I am, and I do what I do for Him; there are no buts, ifs, or maybes to it.
Most influential person(s) in your faith: I find it very difficult to choose just one person who has helped me live my life faithfully. But if I had to narrow it down, I’d have to say my parents. My father has surpassed numerous obstacles to be the man he is today. With strength, courage and drive, and through his own faith, he has defeated what seems to be the impossible. For those reasons and more, I have great admiration for him. My mother; my backbone & my world, is the strongest woman in my life. No matter the situation or the circumstances, she has never let the trials of life get the best of her. A woman so beautiful and so incredible has had her share of struggles and speed bumps, but the fact that she can stand before me with all that lies behind her, and still smile and love her family unconditionally, just blows my mind. It is through faith and His love that my parents are the extraordinary parents that they are. To me, they are no less than the greatest of miracles.
If you could ask God one question, what would it be: Father, what is my greatest purpose in this life?
