Favorite scripture and why: “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:13-14. This scripture passage is my favorite because it is challenging us to be the best we can be by always being on guard, staying firm in the faith, being brave men (and women), and being strong. And this passage also says that whatever we do, we should do it in the name of love.
Favorite part of Core Team: My favorite part of Core Team is the sense of community. We all work together to get the youth of the parish community to get involved and enjoy their faith.
What does your faith mean to you: My faith plays a huge part in my life. It is my way of truly knowing and believing in God. Without my faith, I would be completely lost.
Most influential person in your faith: Both of my parents.
If you could ask God one question, what would it be: “What is the meaning of life?”
If you could leave a message to the high school students after you, what would it be: Carpe diem (“seize the day”)! Make the best out of each day. Life is too short. Live out each day as if it were your last. Make new friends. Get involved in new activities. Stay close with your family. Keep your faith strong. Take advantage of each day. A quote from Kung Fu Panda pretty much sums it all up: “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the ‘present.’”
